Hi 👋 I’m Sunny. This is CMU Week!

It had been a very interesting week!!! I sincerely enjoyed every moment here. I shared at least a story on Instagram every day, which was extremely uncommon for me. I also finally got my bank account and a very funny incident happened then. Moreover, we had a SCS orientation and met some cool people. I also finished my 15513’s last proxylab. It was a really great week!

FYI, my instagram id sunnylee945. Feel free to follow me if you’re interested in getting a more real-time-ish information of my CMU life.

Let’s get started!

1. CMU SCS Orientation

Met a very cool girl from Switzerland who spoke English, French and Arabic. She was a student of Master of Compute Science program. I mean JESUS CHRIST! I couldn’t even elaborate how impressed I was meeting a “real person” from the Compute Science program. Rumor was that there was never even a student got admitted by CMU’s Master of Computer Science in Taiwan, like NEVER. So, yep, I felt even smarter just standing aside her.

2. Taiwanese Bistro Cafe 33

We also went to eat, so to speak, the most delicious food in Pittsburg. The restaurant was called “Taiwanese Bistro Cafe 33”. I literally ate through the whole dinner and forgot to take a picture. It was so damn good. I might’ve dropped a tear or two.

3. Hilarious Incident at the bank

I had never thought of CMU that way before. I guess we learn something every day.

4. Daily Exercise Streak

Finally got my first deadlift day.

5. Bowling with some Taiwanese new friends

I scored 119, which wasn’t too bad. I played bowling for less than 5 times in my entire life. Maybe I had a little talent?

6. Made my first breakfast at home

Burned everything at the first day. But made perfectly at the second. Enjoyed the time having my own breakfast leisurely.

7. 15513 Computer System - Finished the FINAL lab!

A moment of truth and happiness. All of a sudden, the world wasn’t black and white anymore. I had never felt such a relief! I had learned so much. So grateful for the course and myself not giving up. However, it wasn’t over yet. There’s still a final exam.

There were two final exam slots for the students to choose. I selected the later one, which was at the end of Aug, while the earlier one was mid August. I still had a lot to catch up due to the flight and the preparation before coming abroad. Thus, I decided to take the exam a little bit later.

Hopefully, everything goes well afterwards. I really love this course :)

Whoa! It was a lot but quite interesting. Hope you enjoyed. Have a good week!
